Little Husky Child Care

Little Husky Child Care is open year round, Monday through Friday from 5:30 am to 6:00 pm for full and part-time care for ages 2 weeks through 12 years.

Mission

Our teachers and staff believe that each child is unique. We are dedicated to helping each child discover their own uniqueness with a nurturing and stimulating environment where play, developmental growth and social skills are encouraged. We help children promote a positive self-image and self-esteem, where they are encouraged to be independent.

Curriculum

We use the Creative Curriculum, where children learn through play and hands on experiences! Children investigate their surroundings to address the four areas of development: social and emotional, cognitive, physical and language. Teachers offer children a variety of experiences, including teacher-led, small and large group activities and center based play to foster the children's development.

Staff

Our staff are very passionate about early childhood and the development of each child. All staff are certified in CPR, Universal Precautions and Mandatory Reporting. Staff continue to improve their knowledge and skills by completing at least 10 hours of professional development a year. Every teacher is dedicated to fulfill the center's mission and provide the highest quality care to the children.

Classrooms

In the Sprout's Room, infants are offered a warm, safe and nurturing environment, where infants can participate in a variety of developmentally appropriate activities. Schedules are individualized to meet the needs of each child. Staff provide movement activities to promote physical development, sensory activities to promote exploration and language activities.

In the PeaWee's Room, toddlers are on the move! Children are offered many learning activities that encourage exploration of their environment, with staff support. Staff introduce children to circle time, art activities, group story time, colors, shapes and numbers.

Climbers are busy discovering their world. The classroom provides time for story time, hands-on art experiences, sensory play, interactive gross motor, fine motor activities and structured center time; where children are learning through play. Staff work with children on naming colors, numbers, shapes and letters in their name. Staff also work with children on developing self-help skills like handwashing and potty-training.
