Library Media

The Library Media Program at Oelwein Community Schools is committed to helping students achieve success in school, be effective users of information and become lifelong learners.

The Oelwein Library Media Curriculum is based on American Association of School Libraries Skill Indicators, Common Core requirements, Oelwein Library Grade Level Benchmarks and National Educational Technology Standards.

OCSD Vision Statement

  • Implement innovative and effective teaching strategies that are research-based and promote high levels of student learning.

  • Establish independent lifelong learners who are also successful team players.

  • Enrich learning using 21st Century Modern Skills.

 

Goal for Student Learning:
Provide activities and lessons so that students can use the library and its resources to help them in their educational needs to be lifelong learners and productive citizens both in the classroom and in their daily lives.
