Incident / Harassment Form

The Oelwein Community School District takes all incidents involving bullying, harassment, or intimidation seriously and will not tolerate this type of activity. In order for the district to take steps towards action and solution, the incident must first be reported. The reporting of incidents may occur at each school and reported to any educator employed by OCSD. Incidents that are reported at home to parents may never be documented with the school and therefore go unresolved.

Harassment is defined as a continuous pattern of intentional behavior such as to unreasonably embarrass, distress, agitate, disturb or trouble students which may interfere with a student's performance or create an intimidating, offensive or hostile learning environment. This includes, but is not limited to, written, electronic, verbal or physical acts that are reasonably perceived as being motivated by any characteristic of a student, such as age, color, creed, national origin, race, religion, marital status, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical attributes, or disability taking place on school property, on a school bus, or at a school-sponsored function. Bullying, by definition, is unwanted, aggressive behavior that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The bullying behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time.

Please complete the Harassment and Incident form at any time to help students who are targets of bullying, harassment, or intimidation that occurred on school property; at a school sponsored activity or event off school property; on a school bus; or on the way to and/or from school.
