OELWEIN – Coach Dalton Lape will take over as Oelwein High School’s Head Varsity Coach this upcoming wrestling season. Coach Lape has previously served as the middle school’s head wrestling coach and has also been involved in the football and softball programs here at Oelwein.

In addition to striving for success as a team, Coach Lape hopes to help Oelwein’s wrestlers reach their goals beyond the wrestling mat.

“I am excited to lead the wrestling program to success in the classroom, the community, and in competition,” said Coach Lape.

Coach Lape was a two-time state wrestling qualifier at North Fayette and North Fayette Valley, and later earned his college degree at Upper Iowa University. He and his wife, Amy, currently live in Oelwein.

The Oelwein Community School District serves 1200 students in grades K-12.  Those students are educated in our Little Husky Learning Center (Kindergarten), Wings Park Elementary (1st-4th), Middle School (5th – 8th), and our High School (9th – 12).  “Happy, Healthy, and Awesome” are the driving forces beyond all that we do in the Oelwein Community School District as we do whatever it takes to educate ALL students.
